You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Tappd. By creating an account you confirm that you are 18 or older, that the information you give us is truthful, and that you are legally allowed to use a service like this where you live.
One person, one account. Do not create an account for someone else, impersonate another person, or use a photo of someone who has not agreed to it.
You are responsible for what happens on your account and for keeping your password private. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access to it.
You can close your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
You keep ownership of your photos and words. By posting them you give Tappd permission to store and display them inside the app so other members can see your profile and messages.
Do not post anything illegal, anything involving anyone under 18, anything that harasses or threatens another person, or anything you do not have the right to share. Do not use Tappd for commercial solicitation, escorting, drug sales, or trafficking of any kind.
Tappd does not run criminal background checks or identity checks on members. Profile verification, where offered, only means someone confirmed a photo matches an account. It is not a safety guarantee and it does not vouch for anyone's character, health, honesty, or intentions.
Everything a member tells you — their age, their relationship status, their sexual health status, their photos — comes from that member, not from us.
Tappd is a place to find people. What happens after that is between you and them. You decide who to talk to, who to meet, where to meet, and what you do together, and you accept the risk that comes with those choices.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Tappd, its owners, and its staff are not responsible for the conduct of any member, whether online or in person, and are not liable for any injury, illness, loss, emotional harm, property damage, or death arising out of contact between members. This includes anything that happens at a venue or event listed in the app; we do not run those places.
Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have that cannot legally be waived where you live.
Any sexual health details shown on a profile are self-reported and may be out of date or untrue. Tappd is not a medical service and does not give medical advice. Use protection, get tested regularly, and talk to a healthcare provider about PrEP and vaccinations.
Tappd shows an approximate distance between members. We never show another member your exact coordinates, and you can turn distance off in Settings. Even so, a rounded distance can hint at roughly where you are, so think about that before sharing more.
TAPPD PRO is an optional paid subscription that renews automatically until you cancel. Prices are shown before you buy. You can cancel at any time and keep PRO until the end of the period you already paid for. Except where the law requires it, payments already made are not refundable.
Tappd is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it running, but we do not promise it will always be available, error free, or free of content you dislike. Features may change or be removed.
If we materially change these Terms we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you open the app. Questions or reports can go to support through the Contact Support link in Settings.
These documents are a starting draft written in plain English. Have a lawyer in your state review them before Tappd opens to the public.
